Easter Getaway - The Crown Inn, Amersham Buckinghamshire

So, with the Easter bank holiday weekend imminent, my partner and I began discussing a relaxing day trip to the seaside.
Not 45 mins later whilst perusing the internet, sipping a glass of wine, looking for the perfect beach, we stumbled upon mrandmrssmith.com and booked ourselves a two night getaway in The Crown Inn Amersham. Easily done I guess! ;)
This 500 year old coaching inn situated in the beautiful Buckinghamshire village of Amersham was the perfect choice.
Having been refurbished by style guru Ilse Crawford, a former Elle Decoration editor, the inn has retained its rustic charm. Complete with creaky floorboards and ghost stories, Crawford added style with Welsh wool blankets and perfectly placed modern furniture.
We were lucky enough to be given room 12 where there’s a section of hand-painted and National Trust protected wall dating back to 1550. The bottle of perfectly chilled Champagne (courtesy of mrandmrssmith.com), resting happily in its ice bucket on the desk was rudely awoken before our luggage was even out of the car.
An evening stroll round the village followed by a bite to eat in a local pizzeria was enough for our first evening. On Sunday morning we sought out a local vintage fair after which we enjoyed afternoon tea in a stylishly upholstered wing arm chair facing the open fire in the hotel bar.
Walking, resting, playing cards and enjoying great food would sum up our perfect getaway.
Pack your toothbrush, a change of clothes and get booking. You won't be disappointed.
